Hot Heads Non damaging Hair Extensions By Jaclynn Kate

Hot Head Tape In Hair Extensions

Non Damaging Tape In Hair Extensions

Lets Talk About Thick Remy Extensions

Tape In Hair Extensions  By Jaclynn Kate

I meet a lot of clients that are nervous about the damage that extensions may do on their hair. I'd be lying to you if I said they couldn't do damage. Extensions of any kind, are not a wash & go kind of style. They require a lot more work then that. More additional products and time styling and most importantly a stylist that is certified and knows how to install & educate you on maintaining your new hair.

Yo have to remember that even though the hair you're putting into your head is 100% human remy hair, it is NOT attached to your scalp. Therefor it's not receiving the additional oils and vitamins that your natural hair is. Using the correct moisturizing products and shampoo/conditioner is a must.

In addition to products, you have to maintain the 'fills'. Ideally you would get a fill every 6-8 weeks depending upon how fast your hair grows. With Tape in Extensions, this process consists of removing all the extensions with a special adhesive remover, combing out your hair that naturally sheds on it's own, re-taping your extensions with new tape & then a complete installation. This allows no build up of your hair shedding to accumulate therefore less of a chance of matting your hair.

Speaking of matting.. man oh man have I seen some serious matting in the back of some of my clients heads!! Please, please please, listen to your stylist and sleep with your hair in a low pony or braid to keep from tangling. And never, and I mean never, go to sleep with your hair wet and not in a braid. You're extensions and your scalp will thank you in the long run if you listen to that advice!

With all that information taking into consideration, let me show you one of my clients I have been taking care of now for two years.
As you can see, in the picture to the left her hair is jacked up! This client had sew-in extensions in along with i_tip extensions. Both extensions were put in wrong. The i-tips are nothing else but glue and you're pretty much melting glue into your hair. To get them out you use a remover, 'break' the bond and apparently hope your hair doesn't fall out. Well as you can see she lost A LOT of hair.
So much hair I wasn't even sure if I could put in extensions. The picture to the right is immediately after I put extensions back in her hair to cover up the damage.
A better look at what I was working with.
Here she is 2 years later! She's been doing a mixture between micro loop extensions and now tape in extensions. She keeps up with her filled every six weeks when she comes in for her color and mini trims. She clearly could use a very good cut, but the point of the photo is to show when you follow instructions given your outcome is great!
We put her set of tape in extensions back in for this last photo. She's looking to grow her hair out for the rest of the year while wearing the extensions, then get a good hair cut and be done with wearing the hair.
